New 911 GT3 Cup is also coming to the Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux

• The brand new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Type 992 enters the Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux

• The new Cup is even more powerful and ideal for endurance racing

• Full technical support thanks to Prospeed Competition

The Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux is in its fourth edition in 2021 as part of the Belcar Endurance Championship. For this new year, the promoters have a nice surprise in store: from this year on, the brand-new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Type 992 can also compete in the class of the championship reserved for them, much to the satisfaction of the fans of the German brand!

With a power unit that develops no less than 510 hp, the new 911 GT3 Cup is the most powerful ever… while, of course, retaining all the qualities that have given Porsche Motorsport an excellent reputation, especially in long-term competitions. “The Type 992 will be the ideal weapon in the battle for victory in the GTa category of the Belcar,” confirms Olivier Aerts, Series Manager of the Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux. “The engine has undergone a noticeable evolution, and road holding has also been addressed. A front axle with a double triangle control arm gives the car a more efficient and easier to control driving behavior. Because the chassis becomes more stable in this way, tire wear is also reduced. The four-liter power unit is not only 30 hp more powerful, but also more efficient, which reduces fuel consumption. For the endurance races, ABS and Traction Control are available as options, which not only increases safety, but - again - also benefits the tires. Less fuel consumption and lower tire wear: two important factors in successful endurance racing! ”

As everyone is now used to at Porsche Motorsport, all details of the car were taken care of down to the last detail. After all, an endurance race is not only won on the track, but also in the pit box. That is why the brake calipers are designed in such a way that a quick change of the discs can be carried out. In the meantime, the rider also has access to a dashboard with night lighting and an automatic drink system (a button on the steering wheel activates a pump), two details that cannot be neglected. And for those who want to maximize comfort: a cooling system is also available for the driver on the new 911 GT3 Cup.

Knowing that the promoters of the Belcar Endurance Championship have already announced that prototypes will no longer be allowed to start from the 2022 season, it is already clear that the Porsches will be able to compete for the overall victory from next season. No need to wait any longer, and at least three teams have already confirmed their participation with a 911 GT3 Cup Type 992 for this year: RedAnt Racing, Belgium Racing and Speedlover.

In addition to the introduction of a category reserved for the new 911 GT3 Cup, the Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux retains its familiar basis: the two categories dedicated to the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Type 991 and the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport will of course be retained and each form a race-in-the-race of the GT class of the Belcar. Another fixed value, the partnership with tire supplier Michelin, was also continued for this season. The performance and quality level of the French rubbers is now well known and is a great asset for all Porschists!

The Porsche drivers will also be pampered even more by the promoters of the Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux. High-quality technical partner Prospeed Competition provides technical support for every competition and also has an extensive stock of spare parts. This avoids the teams having to invest in a full range of components themselves. “Our goal is to provide all teams defending the Porsche colors with the best possible service,” confirms Rudi Penders, CEO of Prospeed Competition. “We have also worked hard on the regulations, so that everyone can start with equal weapons. For example, we will carry out thorough technical checks both before and after the races. Our goal remains unchanged: to ensure that all teams working in the different Porsche classes can race in the safest conditions and with equal opportunities. ”

With this nice mix of fixed values and novelties, the 2021 season of the Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux looks promising. The first appointment will be in the agenda in a month's time: the season will start at Circuit Zolder on 8 and 9 May, as part of the New Race Festival.
