The Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux starts first of two races in the Ardennes

  • Spa Euro Race is the first of two events on the mythical circuit in the Ardennes

  • Open battle for victory starting on Sunday at 1:15 PM

Zonhoven, May 28, 2025. Following a successful opening round at Circuit Zolder, the Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux 2025 now shifts its focus to the heart of the Belgian Ardennes. Just two weeks after the season opener, the series heads to the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit for the second round, which is also part of the Belcar Endurance Championship. This weekend, and during the first weekend of July, the Porsche one-make series will battle it out on one of the world’s most iconic tracks. Not only are there points in the Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux at stake, but overall honors in the Belcar Endurance Championship as well.

The season opener at Zolder saw a dominant performance from the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup – Type 992 – of D’Ieteren Luxury Performance by NGT. The duo of Robin Knutsson and Glenn Van Parijs claimed victory after an intense showdown with the two Belgium Racing Porsche race cars driven by Jan Lauryssen and Dylan Derdaele on one side, and Michael Cool and Brent Verheyen on the other.

That same trio of teams is expected to be front-runners again at Spa-Francorchamps. However, young Swedish talent Robin Knutsson will be absent for this round, with Cédric Wauters stepping in to partner Glenn Van Parijs. The duo will team up with Bertrand Baguette and Laurens Vanthoor later this year for the 24 Hours of Zolder.

Belgium Racing continues with its trusted pairings, determined to defend their strong track record at Spa, where they clinched victory last year.

MM Racing, led by the Meurrens family, and Russell Racing by Art Racing are also back in the mix. Both teams have clear podium ambitions. MM Racing once again relies on the family trio of Mick, Steve, and Tom Meurrens, while Christoff Corten will be joined at Russell Racing by speedy British driver Jamie Morrow.

Porsche will also be on the grid in the GT Sport class. JDK by NGT enters a Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR for Juna-Jane De Keersmaecker and Benjamin De Cock. SR Motorsport by Schnitzelalm will line up with a 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport for the duo of Wilhelm Kühne and Luisa Kahler.

The weekend kicks off on Saturday at 9:00 AM with a 60-minute free practice session. Qualifying will follow from 14:20 to 15:05 to determine the grid. The 125-minute race starts on Sunday at 13:15, with the green light set to unleash another fierce endurance battle.
