  • Well-known names from the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux and Porsche Sprint Challenge Benelux also compete in the Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux

Zonhoven, 4 June 2026. The 2026 Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux got off to an intense start at Circuit Zolder in early May and heads north to the Netherlands this weekend for its second round. Located 35 kilometres south of Groningen is the Assen circuit, a venue known among motorcycle racing enthusiasts as the Cathedral of Speed. The Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux schedule features a 180-minute race, starting on Sunday at 14:55.

After a one-season hiatus, the Belcar Endurance Championship once again crosses national borders. The Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux remains part of that national championship, meaning several Porsche racing models will take to the asphalt in the north of the Netherlands this weekend.

The circuit in the Dutch province of Drenthe was founded in 1925 and gained worldwide fame thanks to the legendary Dutch TT motorcycle race. Since then, Assen has become a fixture on the international motorsport calendar. Over the years, the circuit has welcomed some of the biggest names in motorsport and has hosted numerous national and international car racing championships, including the DTM and, more recently, the Belcar Endurance Championship (2020). The venue carries the nickname “The Cathedral of Speed”.

For the drivers competing in the Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux, Assen presents a particularly attractive challenge. The circuit’s fast and technical nature perfectly suits the characteristics of the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup – Type 992 – and the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport.

Cross-overs

It is also noteworthy that many names previously seen in Porsche’s sprint competitions across the Benelux will be lining up on the grid in Assen.

“Of course, the first name that comes to mind is Dylan Derdaele who, together with Paul Meijer and Nicolas Saelens, leads the championship following their victory at Circuit Zolder. Dylan is a former Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux champion, but he has also won the Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux,” explains Rudi Penders, Series Manager of the Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux.

“Furthermore, no fewer than three Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux vice-champions will compete in Assen. Paul Meijer is, of course, Dylan Derdaele’s teammate in the #99 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup – Type 992 – entered by Belgium Racing, while Sam Jongejan will also be on the grid. Jongejan, our 2025 vice-champion, replaces another familiar Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux name, Benjamin Paque, at Art Racing, the team currently second in the championship standings.

Last but not least, we will see Glenn van Parijs in the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport of VR Racing by NGT, the winners of the GT Sport class at Zolder. He has been runner-up in the PCCB on multiple occasions. In the same car, we will also witness the debut of Belle Rapange, the 2025 Porsche Sprint Challenge Benelux GT4 class vice-champion.

It is gratifying to see so many drivers finding opportunities across our various championships, both from Belgium and the Netherlands. It also demonstrates the importance of Porsche’s motorsport pyramid in the Low Countries.”

In Assen, Belgium Racing will once again field three Porsche 911 GT3 Cup – Type 992 – cars, just as it did at Zolder, while the North Limburg-based team will face competition from NGT Racing and ART Racing.

In the GT Sport class, VR Racing by NGT and Q1 Motorsport will represent the colours of the German sports car manufacturer.

The Pre-Qualifying Practice session will take place on Saturday from 15:10 to 16:40. Qualifying follows on Sunday from 12:15 to 12:45, while the green flag for three hours of racing will be waved at 14:55.
