Zonhoven, 16 May 2025 – The Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux has firmly established itself as a cornerstone of Belgian endurance racing. In 2025, the Porsche competition returns once more as a key component of the Belcar Endurance Championship. The new season gets underway this weekend at Circuit Zolder with a 125-minute race on Sunday. One thing is clear: Porsche will once again be taking centre stage in this year’s national endurance championship.

The Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux launches this Sunday at 13:15 at Circuit Zolder. This marks the start of what promises to be a captivating season, featuring two visits to Spa-Francorchamps (31 May-1 June and 4-5 July) following the New Race Festival this weekend in Central Limburg. The undisputed highlight of the year will be the 24 Hours of Zolder on 30-31 August, with the season wrapping up back at Circuit Zolder on 11-12 October. In total, no fewer than 1,940 minutes of competitive racing will decide who will be crowned the 2025 champion in mid-October.
The grid for the opening round already looks strong, with eight Porsche 911 GT3 Cup – Type 992 – entries and one Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR lining up. These 911 GT3 Cups won’t just be competing for top honours in the Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux but will also be aiming for overall victories in the Belcar Endurance Championship.
“Porsche, and especially the Porsche 911, continues to be a benchmark in motorsport and endurance racing,” says Rudi Penders, Series Manager of the Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux. “We’re excited to see such a strong Porsche presence again this year and are looking forward, together with fans of GT racing, to a fantastic 2025 season.”

Wide open competition
Predicting Sunday’s winner is anyone’s guess. Of course, the reigning champions Jan Lauryssen and Dylan Derdaele will be looking to defend their title in the #99 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup – Type 992 – for Belgium Racing. The Lommel-based team is also fielding a second car for Michael Cool, who will be competing with the #98.
But the challengers are not to be underestimated, especially the double Zolder 24 Hour winners D’Ieteren Luxury Performance by NGT Racing. Robin Knutsson, Cédric Wauters, and Glenn Van Parijs will be going all in for the title, with a major boost for the 24 Hours of Zolder where they’ll be joined by FIA WEC world champion Laurens Vanthoor – racing, of course, for Porsche – and recent Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux race winner at Spa-Francorchamps, Bertrand Baguette.
Also lining up this weekend will be VR Racing by NGT Racing with the Van Rompuy father-son duo in a second Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, while NGT Racing also enters the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport MR in the GT Sport class (formerly GTB) for Juna-Jane Dekeersmaecker and Benjamin De Cock.

Further teams relying on the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup – Type 992 – include Russell Racing by Art Racing with Christoff Corten and brothers Hans and Frank Thiers, as well as MM Racing with siblings Mick, Steve, and Tom Meurrens. Meanwhile, Toon Hungenaert, Patrick Dubois, and Wouter Manderveld will be representing Rush x Roos Collective.
Last but certainly not least, Alnimax Racing makes its Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux debut with another Porsche 911 GT3 Cup – Type 992 – on the grid.

So, join us this Saturday and Sunday at Circuit Zolder for 125 minutes of pure racing action – and by 15:30, we’ll know who has taken the first victory in the 2025 season.
