Starting field of the Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux even bigger!

• As part of the Belcar Endurance Championship, the Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux will have its second meeting of 2021 in Hockenheim

• Q1-Trackracing by EMG Motorsport is entering two additional copies of the new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup

• Belgium Racing leader in the standings, RED ANT Racing is counting on revenge

With the arrival of the new 911 GT3 Cup type 992, the drivers of the Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux are once again playing first fiddle in the GT division of the Belcar. Two weeks after a Porsche in Zolder finished the opening round of the national endurance championship as the first GT car, the peloton will head to Hockenheim next weekend for the second meeting of the season.

That interest in the championship is on the rise is proven by the fact that Q1-Trackracing by EMG will be using two new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup type 992 for this German transfer of the Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux. At the wheel of it are some famous names from the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux. For example, Jan Lauryssen, the revelation of the start of the season and current leader in the Am championship, shares the first car with Filip Teunkens. At the wheel of the second copy are Nicolas Vandierendonck, permanent member of the team, and the young Dirk Schouten.

“Dirk is Bas Schouten's nephew, with whom I have often ridden together,” Nicolas explains. “This race of the Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux as part of the Belcar gives him the opportunity to get behind the wheel of such a powerful car for the first time. For the Q1-Trackracing by EMG team, this is also a great preparation for the races that we will be doing in the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux at the end of the season. This organization, which we have set up together with Edgard Terium, also offers Track Days and a professional framework for racing activities. Edgard's qualities as a Porsche preparer are now sufficiently known, and I am mainly concerned with the framework: commercial relations, marketing, press relations and sponsoring, and so on. We want to approach everything very professionally, but at the same time create a cozy and friendly atmosphere. It's an incredibly exciting project! ”

Can the two cars of Q1-Trackracing by EMG Motorsport prove themselves against the fixed values of the championship? Dylan Derdaele and Nicolas Saelens (Belgium Racing), in the first race winners of the Belcar GT division, are again favorites at the start. Their teammates Koen and Kris Wauters now want to put things right after a collision in the first race. And what about Red Ant Racing? Father Bert and sons Yannick and Ayrton are looking for revenge, after contact with the car of the Wauters brothers forced them to end the fight prematurely two weeks ago.

With five copies of the new Porsche 911 GT3 Cup at the start, the podium places will be sold dearly. But Jan Ooms and Glenn Paenen (on the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup type 991 of Belgium Racing) are on the edge, ready to take advantage of the smallest mistake of the competition. In Zolder this earned them a second place.

Sven Van Laere, Davy Vandekerckhove and Sem Geerts are aiming for a second victory in GTB, at the wheel of the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport from the workshops of RED ANT Racing.

After the free practice sessions (60 minutes) on Friday, the qualifications for the second Belcar race of 2021 will be completed on Saturday between 12:00 and 12:45 PM. The three-hour race will start at 9 a.m. on Sunday morning.
