Porsche in the 24 Hours of Zolder: eight cars, four teams and three types

- The Porsche 991 and 992 GT3 Cup and the Porsche Cayman GT4 are the weapons in the Limburg classic

- Belgium Racing, ProSport Racing, Red Ant Racing and Speedlover represent Porsche in the 24 Hours of Zolder

The 43rd edition of the Zolder 24 Hours will be kicked off on Saturday at 4 pm. No fewer than eight Porsche, four 991 GT3 Cup, two 992 GT3 Cup and two Cayman GT4 from four different teams take the start of this particularly tough endurance race. After eighteen victories in the past, the aim of the teams and the Porsche drivers is of course to add a nineteenth victory to the rich track record of the German brand.

Le Mans, Spa, Nürburgring, Dubai, Barcelona and Zolder: 24-hour races are held all over the world and these are also the toughest challenges on the track. Man and machine must be perfectly attuned to each other here and only then can a victory be the result of the efforts. Porsche has a unique track record in this endurance racing, as evidenced by the fact that the German brand has already won each of these races at least once. The Zolder 24 Hours has already been on the palmares eighteen times, but it will certainly not stop there. Six Porsche 992 and 991 GT3 Cup and two Porsche Cayman GT4 will give their best on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 September to finish as high as possible after 24 exhausting hours.

Red Ant Racing takes on the challenge with no fewer than three Porsches: two Porsche 992 GT3 Cup and one Porsche Cayman GT4. Where father Bert Redant shares the car with his sons Ayrton and Yannick, expertly assisted by Glenn van Parijs, the current number three in the Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux, we see a special crew in the other 992 of the team. In addition to a 'coach', in the person of multiple Porsche Carrera Cup Benelux champion Xavier Maassen, we see four entrepreneurs who found each other through their passion for Porsche: Ad Geerts, Luc Vanderfeesten, Stijn Lowette and Peter Guelinckx. All four also come from the wide region around the circuit and they prove the power of motorsport for the business world. Philippe Wils, Kobe and Jimmy De Breucker and Davy Vandekerckhove finally do it in the Porsche Cayman GT4.

Belgium Racing will enter two Porsche 991 GT3 Cups, with one of course for Marc Goossens, Kenneth Heyer, Dylan Derdaele and Nicolas Saelens, with the first three drivers together accounting for no fewer than fourteen victories, thirteen of which with a Porsche 911! Marc Goossens has six, a record, Dylan Derdaele and Kenneth Heyer already have four victories to their credit.

Speedlover will of course also be present in the 24 Hours of Zolder with two cars, a Porsche 991 GT3 Cup and a Porsche Cayman GT4. In the 991 we find the very experienced Jurgen Van Hover, assisted by Olivier Dons and Pieter Ooms, while the fourth driver position goes to Bruno Vermeeren. In the Cayman GT4, father and son Paque are accompanied by William Godefroid, among others.

Last but not least, there is the Porsche 991 GT3 Cup from ProSport with, in addition to Rodrigue Gillion, Nico Verdonck and Simon Balcaen, Kurt Hensen, who became acquainted with the circuit during the trackdays of Petrolhead and in the meantime has covered many racing kilometers with Porsche.

A striking finding in the list of participants of the Porsche teams: no fewer than three times we are dealing with a father-son combination, with the Redant family, as well as De Breucker and Paque.

The 43rd edition of the 24 Hours of Zolder, the main race of the Belcar Endurance Championship, will take place on 25 and 26 September at Circuit Zolder, starting on Saturday at 4 pm.
