Finale of the Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux this weekend at Circuit Zolder

- Family battle between both Belgium Racing teams for the 2023 title

- The battle for third place is still intense

Zonhoven, October 12, 2023. This weekend the curtain will fall at Circuit Zolder on the Belcar Endurance Championship, or the national Belgian endurance championship. Naturally, the Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux is an integral part of this and the battle for the title in the Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux is a fraternal battle between the two crews of Belgium Racing Team. After the victory in Oschersleben, the leading position is in the hands of Dylan Derdaele and Michael Cool, at the wheel of the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup – Type 992 – with starting number #99, but their teammates Koen Wauters and Jos Menten follow just two units behind, in the Porsche with number #98. Whoever finishes ahead of the other after 125 minutes on Sunday can call themselves 2023 champion.

There is a lot at stake this weekend. Three victories out of the four races of the national Belcar endurance championship went to the various Porsche teams, but not only is the hunt for a fourth victory on Sunday, the battle for the title is also central. Dylan Derdaele and Michael Cool are fighting a double duel on the Limburg asphalt, because in addition to the final win in the Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux, they are also chasing the national title.

“Both titles are important to us,” Dylan Derdaele looks ahead to the 125-minute match in Zolder. “In the Porsche Endurance Trophy Benelux it is clear that whoever drives the best race on Sunday is a deserved champion. It concerns both cars of our Belgium Racing Team, so we can be proud of that as a team. The position of both our cars in the points standings is partly the result of our performance during the 24 Hours of Zolder, where we all together, Michael, Koen, Jos, Lars (Kern) and I drove on one Belgium Racing Team Porsche. I will always be happy on Sunday, no matter who wins. It is a bit more difficult for the national title. Due to our bad luck earlier this season in Spa, to become champion we not only have to drive a perfect race ourselves, but also look at what our direct competitor is doing. So we no longer have our fate completely in our own hands, we have to be honest about that. But there too, whoever wins deserves the title! I especially hope for a great match and a fair fight!”

In addition to the two Porsche 911 GT3 Cup - Type 992 - from Belgium Racing Team, we also see the other strong Porsche teams at the start during the final round, with RedAnt Racing with Michiel Haverans looking for third place in the championship. Q1 Trackracing is heading to Circuit Zolder with Jan Lauryssen and the Kempen native no longer has any ambitions in the title fight, but will do everything he can to repeat his victory at Spa-Francorchamps. We will also have to wait and see what MM Racing and Speedlover can achieve in the final round.

The qualifying session will take place on Saturday, October 14 between 11:10 AM and 11:55 AM, the race, over 125 minutes, starts at 3:25 PM.
